Best Practice, Experienced & Ethical Audiology

I'm so glad I chose Myriam Westcott for a second opinion on some hearing tests that I had had done. I had previously had the unfortunate experience of having some very questionable interpretation of the tests, which I had after having developed tinitus and then hyperacusis earlier this year. The misdiagnosis I received I consider to be a traumatic event in my life. Had I known about Myriam when I first developed tinitus, a session with her would have reassured me immediately and saved me from a pretty traumatic few months getting to the bottom of what was going on with me. Myriam took a lot of care in listening to me and understanding my history thoroughly. She takes much time and care in explaining in thorough detail the way in which the ear and brain work together, with a particular emphasis in my case, on the science behind how trauma can cause and exacerbate symptoms such as hyperacusis and tensor tympani syndrome. She is not only a leading expert in this field of audiology and neuroscience, she is also an expert at supporting people therapeutically who experience these symptoms. An unusual and much needed combination- choose DWM audiology- you will be in good hands !

Kate Moore took me through some comprehensive testing for work related hearing standards. She was very patient and took the time to explain everything to me. It was the most informative consult I have had from any audiologist in 30 years of testing through careers in Defence and law enforcement training.

From the very first contact I knew I was in good hands. The receptionist was so empathetic and went out of her way to schedule an appointment with Myriam. Myriam was like no other specialist I had dealt with previously. She explained things thoroughly and used visual representations so as to reinforce these learnings. Hearing issues can be incredibly debilitating but I left the appointment with strategies and a clear understanding of what I was facing. Most importantly she showed a great deal of compassion and her expertise made me feel confident of my pathway to wellness.

Lu at reception was responsive, generous, kind, accomodating and extremely efficient when I called for assistance with my daughter's Misophonic symptoms. Despite being obviously very busy, Lu took the time to listen to me and provided clear, accessible information about the options I could pursue for my child through DWM Audiology. Thank you Lu, for your compassion and assistance - your response made such a difference. DWM Audiology is very clever to have such quality staff.

Miryam challenged me to use my aids to the fullest. She cranked them up and advised to give my brain 6 weeks to get used to the extra stimuli. It did. Thanks!!

I definitely recommend DWM Audiology. I was initially unsure about what type of appointment would be the most appropriate for my particular situation, but Lu at reception was very patient and kind, and beyond helpful. She ran me through my different options and was very up-front about what services would be included/what the price would be etc. I ended up having a consultation with Dr Ashley Duns, and I couldn't find a negative thing to say if I tried. He took the time to really understand my symptoms and my situation, to fully explain what was going on for me, answer all of my questions, and tell me the strategies I can employ to manage it moving forward. Despite the lack of Medicare rebate on the service, I think it was undoubtedly worth it.

I have been under the care of Myriam Westcott for around a year for an unusual hearing disability. She has demonstrates a very caring attitude and is highly skilled in her field. She is always very thorough in her explanations, and rationale for recommended courses of actions. I feel very well cared for by this practitioner.

I have attended DWM Audiology frequently over the last 12 months with my mother who has recently been fitted with hearing aides. On every occasion we have found the staff to be very friendly and supportive. A particular mention must go to the lovely Lu at reception . Lu always greets us with a big smile, takes the time to check in with how we have been since our last visit , is very efficient , professional and attentive to our needs. She provides great customer service. We look forward to our next visit !

Reception staff were very helpful. I had an appointment to get sleep plugs with Ash. He was great and I’m very happy with my new plugs. Much more effective then the ones I got from another Audiology clinic. Ash ensured I got a great fit. Highly recommend

I would like to compliment your wonderful receptionists, Lou & Megan-they we’re friendly, understanding & nothing was too much trouble for them, both with answering my questions as my initial point of contact & also when l had to ring for assistance when l accidentally disconnected my hearing aids from the phone app & needed stepping through the process of reconnecting them. They are both a great asset to your practice.

I phoned DWM Audiology to enquire about Tinnitus as I believe my elderly grandmother may suffer from the condition. The receptionist was very helpful. I called to make an appointment for my 1 year old son who I was concerned about. Due to COVID restrictions I was unable to get an appointment which is understandable. However Kate took the time to listen to my concerns over the phone. She is knowledgeable, she explained the likely causes and instructed me on what to do. My mother came to see Kate for her tinnitus. I wasn't sure what to expect but was really amazed with the results that my mum had after just one session. Kate taught my mum some practical tips for training the mind to shift its focus away from the tinnitus, particularly during times of stress etc. I highly recommend Kate to anyone who is suffering from tinnitus.
