Our audiology clinic was one of the first private audiology practices in Australia, set up by audiologist Janice Milhinch in 1980. The clinic has had a series of name changes as new audiologists have become owners. Since January 2020, Myriam Westcott and Kate Moore are the clinical audiologists who own and are co-directors of the clinic. The clinic is now named DWM Audiology.
Our audiologists offer extensive experience in hearing assessment, hearing aid fitting/fine-tuning and hearing rehabilitation. Our clinic is known for our expertise in supporting patients with complex rehabilitative audiological needs.
Our clinic has an established history of evaluation, management, workplace consultancy and research into tinnitus, hyperacusis, acoustic shock and hearing conservation. Dr Janice Milhinch was instrumental in the identification of acoustic shock as a newly identified condition, carrying out the first extensive study of 103 patients with acoustic shock in 2001.
The expertise and experience of Myriam Westcott, Kate Moore and Ross Dineen has placed our practice as renowned internationally for tinnitus, hyperacusis, acoustic shock, TTS and misophonia therapy. We are considered the leading clinic providing these services in Australia. We have the unique opportunity and commitment to carry out clinically focused research in an independent private practice setting.
We are accredited to provide services for WorkCover claimants and on referral from the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA).
Our philosophy is to provide audiological services in an independent private practice setting, with strict consideration of the ethics involved.
Our ethical policy is as follows:
Hearing loss is common, particularly as you become older. In Australia, research shows 1 in 5 people over 60 years old will have a hearing loss
